I have been playing with both clays and glazes since 1978, exploring all available techniques from primitive forming and firing methods to the use of modern materials and special firing schedules. Domestic ware has never appealed to me. My works are inspired by the tropical surrounds and impressions gained through extensive world travels.
Over the many years I have been experimenting with various glazes such as bronze glazes, crystalline glazes, crawling glazes and lately chrome glazes, which I have used in my series of rainforest forms and presently I am making forms inspired by ginger plants (Etlingera) and some of its flower blossoms forms and using different colourful glazes and having a lot of fun.
