My pottery journey began 4 1⁄2 years ago after attending a Club Open weekend and Raku firing.
It quickly grew from a hobby/interest to a passion. Within 6 months I had purchased my wheel then a little later a kiln. I make both functional ware and ornamental pots, predominantly on the wheel.
I am interested in the different processes that provide varying finishes to a piece after it has been made. I am currently exploring crystalline glazes as this suit my meticulous nature and the equipment I have. In the future I would like to explore using a gas kiln as there are processes and colour opportunities not available using an electric kiln. By far the best part of beginning potting is the friendships that would otherwise not have happened.
I have found my tribe.
