MELTING POT 2024
50th Jubilee NATIONAL CERAMIC EXHIBITION.
The seventeenth Cairns Ceramics Exhibition, MELTING POT 2024 will be held at the Court House Gallery Abbott Street Cairns from 29th November 24 to 11 Janaury 25. We hope that many club members will participate in the exhibition.

Entries close 18th November.
This year, it will again be a National Ceramics Exhibition, sopotters from across Australia are welcome to exhibit.

The Exhibition is open to the public and free entry.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
- All entries must be the original work of the entrant or entrants (if joint work) executed within the last 24 months and not having won a previous award.
- Entry Form is available on website www.cairnspottersclub.com and can be lodged online or forwarded to “MELTING POT 2024”. Cairns Potters Club Inc. P.O. Box 1470 Cairns. Qld. 4870 together with an administration fee of $25.00 per entry for members and $30 per entry for non-members and must be received before Monday 18 November 2024.
- Work is to be forwarded or delivered to’ MELTING POT 2024’at the Court House Gallery 38 Abbott St Cairns City Qld 4870 by 25 November 2024 between 10 am and noon. Alternative arrangements may be made by contacting Lone White 07 40537508 or Christina George 07 40532240.
- All works, ceramic or glass, must be marked with the entrant’s name and address together with price or marked “not for sale” (N.F.S.). A set of works is to have one price to cover the set but may also show separate prices for the individual pieces which make up the set.
- Works for sale shall be subject to 33 1/3% sales commission.
- Entrants should note that all work, including moulds, be the original unaided work of the entrants. Commercial moulds are not accepted and will not be judged.
- The Exhibition will be on display at the Court House Gallery 29 November 2024 to 11 January 2025.
Work must be collected between 10 am and noon on Monday 13 January 2025 from the Court House Gallery, Works not collected by this time or for which clear and concise instructions have not been received, will be removed and stored at the entrant’s expense and a fee of $5 per item per day will be charged. After three weeks uncollected entries will be disposed of, to defray costs – without reference to the competitor. - Should any dispute arise for which no specific rule is laid down, the matter will be determined by the Executive committee, whose decision will be final.
- All entries must be securely packed and delivered to the Committee free of all charges. Entrants are responsible for packing, freight and complete insurance cover on their work when in transit. While on display at the Gallery the artworks will be covered by the Gallery’s insurance scheme. All reasonable care in handling work submitted will be taken but no liability will be accepted for the loss of, or any damage to any article while in the custody of the committee or committee’s agents. All works requiring suspension must have appropriate fixtures for hanging and concise instructions.
- The judging will be announced at the official opening to be held at 6 pm. on 29 November 2024.
- All works will be viewed by the judge who will have the option to disallow the display of a particular work. The judge’s decision will be final, and no correspondence entered into.
- Entrants shall allow all exhibits to be reproduced by newspapers, television etc. without fee for the exhibition and further promotional use.
